Fire-rated buildings and products
The Eldapoint Group have an established track record in providing secure and innovative portable cabins and enclosures into the construction industry. Our range of steel fire-rated cabins are low maintenance security buildings, designed and manufactured to meet JCoP 10.1 (Joint Code of Practice on the Protection from Fire of Construction Sites
and Buildings) clause 13.6 for a 30-minute (REI) fire resistance.
The objective of JCoP is simple – to prevent fires on construction sites. It will usually provide the basis of the insurance contract associated with a construction project. Failure to comply could potentially lead to the cessation or withdrawal of insurance coverage.
Our GRP cabinets, engineered using a fire-retardant resin, also help ensure the safety and integrity of critical equipment in the face of a fire.
Flat-sided or corrugated steel enclosures with JCOB 10.1 Clause 13.6 Certification
Our fire-rated, anti-vandal units have been rigorously tested and certified to withstand intense fire conditions for a minimum of 30 minutes fire resistance, providing valuable time for safe evacuation and minimising the risk of injury or loss of life. Manufactured to the required specification and tested to the BS EN 13501 standard, the range achieves the relevant REI (load bearing, integrity and insulation) rating for a 30-minute fire exposure for the unit structure, walls, floors, and ceilings.
In addition to aiding fire prevention, the range has an anti-vandal specification with robust steel construction giving resistance against theft and vandalism.
Dual security and fire-resistant features include window shutters, anti-jemmy studs and pre-installed fire curtains. In addition to our standard cabin range, we can design and manufacture bespoke fire-rated units for other applications and sectors including portable offices, lithium battery charging pods, canteens, toilet blocks and welfare units.

Fire retardant GRP cabinets
The Eldapoint Group also offers GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) electrical enclosures with excellent fire resistance properties. Incorporating a fire-retardant resin additive, they are designed to comply with BS 476 Part 7 (1997) Class 2 and Class 1 (30 and 60 minutes prevention of Surface Spread of Flame). This special resin acts as a barrier, preventing fire penetration and maintaining the cabinet’s structural integrity in the event of a fire.
A fibreglass cabinet is a valuable addition to our fire-resistant range. GRP enclosures are lightweight and robust. They are corrosion-resistant and offer excellent electrical insulation, making them a safe choice for electrical components.
